During the 19th century, Broughty Ferry, was a fishing and whaling village and ferry port, it has developed into a beautiful resort town with a picturesque seafront, white sandy beaches, an esplanade and harbour and has become a popular tourist destination, ideal for walkers, sight-seers and nature-watchers, there is a selection of hotels and holiday accommodation, shops and a good selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants, a childrenâ€™s play area and rock garden.
