Britford is a small village that lies a mile south east of the cathedral city of Salisbury in Wiltshire. Accessed via the A338 the village sits on the banks of the River Avon. The surrounding wetlands known as Britford Water Meadows were designated a site of Special Scientific Interest in 1975. The meadows are one of the principle attractions of the area offering a tranquil and wildlife rich are for walking, bird watching and horse riding. In the village itself two ancient structures provide the focus of interest.
