Bolton le Sands is to be found in the North West of England in Lancashire on the shores of Morecambe Bay on the Kent estuary. Its history stretches as far back as the Domesday Book where it is referred to as Bodeltone. The village was, in times long gone, involved in fishing however the tidal flow created shifting sands in Morecambe Bay and fishing and the other maritime activities that were carried out were no longer viable. The town benefits from relatively easy access to the M6 (Junction 35) prior to the M6 by passing the town it was in earlier times on the principle road between Lancaster and Carlisle.
