Binley lies to the east of Coventry in the West Midlands. Nestling within this rural setting is a former 12th century Cistercian Monastery, known as Coombe Abbey, the stone built cloisters which still exist today date back to around 1539, today Coombe Abbey is a hotel set in around 500 acres of parkland, a magnet for tourists in the summer who come to enjoy the scenery, enjoy a stroll around the serpentine lake and the nature trails. The gardens are attributed to Lancelot (Capability) Brown whilst the terrace was designed and built by WA Nesfield, since then though all the gardens have undergone extensive and meticulous restoration to their former glory.
