Barton upon Humber is an ancient Market town positioned on the banks of the Humber River, in the County of Lincolnshire, home to over nine thousand people. It has an intriguing history that dates as far back as Saxon times. It played an important role during the Norman invasion, as it was one of the main strategic landing ports. There is a diverse range of architecture from the Saxon splendour of St Peter's Church which has a Norman tower, Medieval St Mary's church, and elegant Georgian, and Victorian houses, and buildings.
