Ballygrant is a small village on the Hebridean isle of Islay lying off the west coast of Argyll in Scotland; Ballygrant is situated three miles from the ferry terminal at Port Askaig. Ballygrant is a popular tourist location with shops, holiday accommodation and places to eat. Attractions include the Ballygrant Loch, with brown trout fishing and scenic walks. The Islay Woollen Mill has a visitor centre with traditionally made tartans and tweeds; the mill provided the tartans used in the film 'Braveheart'.
