Ballygalley is a small village situated on the world-famous Antrim Coast Road. Nestling at the foot of green hills, the village looks out over a picturesque stone wall to the sandy beach, the bay, the vast waters of the Irish Sea and, on a clear day, Scotland. Ballygalley spreads out around a 17th Century castle, reputedly haunted, which has since been extended to become a four-star hotel. This is the only building of its age that's still occupied in Northern Ireland. Ballygalley Head, a roadside crag, is a village landmark and a favourite with climbers.
