Apsley is a town a mile from Hemel Hempstead old town, in the valley of the Chiltern Hills in Hertfordshire, famed for itâ€™s history of Paper Milling and being the location of the first commercial Paper Mill. This interesting town has much to offer itâ€™s curious visitor from canal walks, or a tour around St Maryâ€™s in the old town which dates back to the 12th Century, the 200â€™ spire dominates the skyline and is one of Europeâ€™s tallest. Maybe stroll around the Marina stepping over the Artists as they try to capture the colourful sight of the Narrow Boats, or climb aboard for a trip on the Grand Union Canal on your way to see the intriguing Paper Mill.
