Abington is a name that will be familiar to the many motorists who roar up and down the M74. Situated in South Lanarkshire â€“ about 45 minutes drive from Glasgow â€“ Abington is most famous for its motorway serv-ices. This in some respects is an injustice, but it is rather apt, as Abington has been a thoroughfare for those travelling between Scotland and England ever since the Roman Empire took a shine to the Great British way of life.
