Turnberry is a small village on the South Ayrshire coast, Scotland, six miles north of Girvan, situated on Turnberry Bay with a 2km of beaches. Turnberry is famous as the home to one of the world’s first purpose-built golf resorts. Equipped with two championship 18-hole courses, a 9-hole course, a pitch and putt and golf academy. The Ailsa course opened in 1903 and hosted the first Open Championship in 1977. A second championship course was added in 1912 now known as The Westlin Turnberry Resort.
