The village of Tissington is to be found in the county of Derbyshire lying between Buxton and Ashbourne. This picturesque and quaint village is in fact an estate village built around Tissington Hall, built by Francis FitzHerbert, one of the ancestors of the present owners and today. The village though can trace its history back even further than to before 1086 when it was mentioned in the Domesday Book. As you approach Tissington along the A515 you immediately notice an avenue of lime trees giving the appearance of an approach to a country manor but instead you soon find yourself in this scenic village.
