Taynuilt is a village in the Argyll region of Scotland situated by the south shore of Loch Etive to the west of Ben Cruachan, 12 miles north of Oban. Taynuilt is famous as the location of the last Scottish Parliament held in Gaelic in the Ardchattan Priory in1308: the ruins of the Valliscaulian priory lie on Loch Etive 6 miles north-east of Oban The ancient village has gravestones dating back to the 13th century and the ruins of Killespickerill, the seat of the Bishop of Argyll, date from 1228.
