Sutton Bonington is a village dating back to Saxon times home to 1600 people. The village has two Medieval churches, and is close to the River Soar, which tempts any visitor to walk along the Tow Path and watch the boats glide past, or try to capture the wonders of Mother Nature on Canvas. The hardest thing to decide is what to see or do first, perhaps different modes of transport would be a first choice, with the Great Central Railway which has restored stations to different periods in time covering ‘60’s, ‘40’s, and Edwardian period, complete with Steam Locomotives, what more could be asked for….
