St Monans is a village situated between Elie and Pittenweem in the East Neuk of Fife. It sits on a hill overlooking the Forth estuary, with scenic views of the Bass Rock, Isle of May and over to North Berwick. The picturesque village has a lovely mix of historical buildings alongside the shops, restaurants, hotel and Internet café. There is an abundance of fish merchants and fish-smokehouses Salt, coal and fishing were the chief industries for many years and while it still remains a fishing community, it is largely a centre for tourism and boatbuilding.
