The smallest ancient Cathderal in Britain is to be found in this Welsh village that has the clear crystal waters of the River Elwy running through it. St Asaph is to be found in the County of Flintshire and the cathedral has, in its history, been destroyed at least three times – the building you see now was rebuilt mainly in the 14th century and subsequently remodelled by the Victorians. Today the Cathedral plays host to the North Wales Music Festival which is usually held in September. From the Cathedral, proceeding down the hill the High Street is lined with the local traditional shops.
