Rainham is a suburban town in the London Borough of Havering in East London. It includes the nearby small village of Wennington, and is located 13 miles from London. Rainham gives its name to the Rainham Marshes which border the town to the south and extend to Purfleet in the west. The 18th century Rainham Hall sits adjacent to the church. It is now owned by the National Trust. St. Helen and St. Giles Church is a recognisable local Norman landmark and the oldest building in Havering, retaining many of its original features.
