Purley is located in the London Borough of Croydon. It can be found along the A23 at the point where the A22 branches off. It is convenient, therefore, for access to Central London via the A23 north bound. South bound, the A23 provides access to the M23 leading to Gatwick Airport and Brighton. It also connects directly with the M25. Purley has been made famous on more than one occasion by television comedy. It was the setting for the sitcom Terry and June, starring Terry Scott and June Whitfield, which ran from 1979 to 1987.
