Peebles is a historic town in the Borders region of Scotland situated on the north bank of the River Tweed six miles west of the town Innerleithen. Peebles was a Royal Burgh from the reign of David I and there are many historically interesting features throughout including the remains of the St. Andrews Church founded 1195 and the ruins of the Cross Kirk, a Trinitarian friary, founded in 1261. The town is surrounded by beautiful scenery, forests, rivers and rolling hills ideal for walking, cycling, fishing and golfing.
