Newtown is a tiny hamlet within the parish of Sherfield English in the county of Hampshire, 5 miles from the town of Romsey. A network of footpaths can be accessed from Newtown leading to local villages and pubs. Dunwood Golf Course is within walking distance. The 600 year old Knightwood Oak, the largest in the New Forest and known as the Queen of the Trees, is close by and can be visited by taking the Ornamental drive. Sherfield English is a small village along the A27, Romsey to Salisbury road, with a church, the Hatchet Inn, a village hall, and a garage.
