Nethy Bridge is a small secluded village lying on the River Nethy in the Badenoch and Strathspey area in the Highlands of Scotland, situated 5 miles south-west of Grantown-on-spey. Nethy Bridge developed in the 18th century on the edge of the Abernethy Forest, forestry was the main industry and the village had several sawmills. Abernethy Forest is an ancient Caledonan Pine forest, now owned by the RSBP. The railway arrived in 1865 and this quiet location became a tourist resort and has been popular since Victorian times and is well equipped with self-catering accommodation, B&B’s, hotels and restaurants.
