Lynmouth is a small coastal harbour village in North Devon. Visitors can be rejuvenated with a breath of sea air and marvel at the wonderful scenery. It is perhaps most famous for the disaster which befell the local community in 1952. The two rivers which flow through the village down to the sea, the East Lyn and Hoaroak, flooded and many cottages were swept away into the sea with great loss of life. Memorials to this tragic time in Lynmouth’s history reside in the Memorial Hall. The village itself lies 600ft below another village, Lynton.
