Lochboisdale is an historic fishing port positioned on the southern headland of the Isle of Uist, in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland, and it is home to just over six hundred people. From a small agricultural settlement Lochboisdale thrived with the onset of the Herring Industry and an important Fishing station was built here in the latter part of the 1800's. When the industry boomed, a Steamer Pier was built forging a link with the nearby Islands; and a hotel was built to cater for the needs of the Fishermen which still remains today.
