Kirkcaldy is a Fife town, on the north shore of the Firth of Forth. The town received its Royal Burgh charter in 1644. Kirkcaldy is known as ‘The Lang Toun’ as it stretches along four miles, with a winding High Street running parallel with the shore. Kirkcaldy was famous as an industrial town for its textile and linoleum manufacturing. On the Kirk Wynd sits the 15th century tower of Kirkcaldy’s ancient parish church. Nearby St Brycedale Church is an impressive building with a tall steeple.
