Kingsbridge is an attractive town with cobbled streets and interesting little passages and alleyways just begging to be explored. It is situated in the area of South Devon known as the South Hams. One of its quaint alleyways is, for reasons unknown, called “Squeezebelly Alley!†Week day markets are still held in the town in the Elizabethan market hall, a fascinating building called the Shambles raised upon granite pillars. Different markets are held here on specific week days. In the 17th Century Grammar School building on Fore Street, can be found the Cookworthy Museum.
