Kennington, situated in south London, not far from the Thames, is world-famous for the Oval cricket ground - now called Brit Oval. The ground is home to Surrey County Cricket Club although, in the past, it welcomed other sports, hosting the first FA Cup Final in 1872. The first national rugby matches were played here, too. Nowadays, the ground is open not just to spectators but to cricket fans working to improve their game. The Ken Barrington Cricket Centre offers coaching, net and bowling machine hire, and an equipment shop.
