Inverkeithing is an ancient Royal Burgh in West Fife in Scotland south-east of Dunfermline situated on a plateau on a hillside overlooking the Inner Bay of the Firth of Forth at the north end of the Forth Road Bridge. Awarded royal burgh status in 1165, Inverkeithing has many historically interesting features including the 5th century St Peter’s Kirk, The Friary which houses a local museum and the Friary Garden, the Town House dating from1770, the Mercat Cross dating from c1400 and Thomsoun’s House built in 1617.
