The village of Hilderstone in Staffordshire lies to the South of Stoke on Trent and is set in the rolling countryside that forms part of the agricultural heritage of Staffordshire. The village can trace its history back to around 670 AD and signs of the old strip and terrace method of farming is still evident today. When you visit you may wonder as to why the village has adopted the wolf as its logo and the answer is quite simple. The village may actually have taken its name from the Anglo Saxon Hildewulf’s Ton meaning warrior wolf town.
