This pretty village situated in the Weald of Sussex and has links with Romans, Saxons, Normans and of course Winnie the Pooh. Idyllic in it’s setting on the edge of the bewitching Ashdown Forest, where cycling walking and exploring will tempt. Henry VIII used to hunt in the forest for deer and wild boar, he frequently stayed in Hartfield at Bolebrook Castle which originates from 1480 and is the earliest brick building in Sussex. Presumably he enjoyed staying here as Anne Bolyn lived just 5 miles away in Hever Castle.
