Hambrook is close to Bristol and the M4, yet still seems to retain much of its semi rural charm. It is located at the south western foot of Winterbourne Hill. The village has a distinctive village green which the local refer to as both 'Hambrook' and 'Whiteshill Common' given its proximity to the hamlet of Whiteshill. The Frome flows partly through Hambrook and the nearby hamlet of Moorend, a mostly wooded area where families can enjoy walking their dogs. At the time of the writing of the Domesday Book, Hambrook was a separate manor, but later joined with the manor at Winterbourne.
