Hamble is a small village in Hampshire just outside of Southampton on the South coast. A popular location throughout its history with evidence of Stone Age man and more recently the Romans who all left traces of their residence. With fresh water, fertile soil and forests close by it is easy to understand why the location was first used as a settlement, St Andrews church can trace its roots back to Norman times despite being rebuilt in the 15th century, whilst the 16th century saw Hamble castle built close to the Common with traces of it still evident today at low tide.
