Grangemouth is a town and Scotland’s largest container port situated in the Falkirk region of Scotland sitting at the mouth of the Grange Burn at the junction with the Firth of Forth and the River Carron. The town was known as Sealock until 1752 when it was bought by Sir Laurence Dundas, he planned and developed the industrial town and by 1777 it was an important link terminal between the River Forth and the Clyde Canal to increase the trade with Glasgow. The Caledonian Railway Company took over the docks and canal in 1867 and commissioned the first deep-water oil jetty.
