Frampton on Seven lies 9 miles south west of Gloucester on a bend in the River Seven. The village is long and narrow, strung out along the high street from the Church to the spacious village green known as "Rosamund's Green" (after Henry II`s mistress, Rosamund Clifford). The church, St.Mary the Virgin, is mainly fourteenth century with fifteenth century additions and has one of the six similar lead fonts of 1250-75 surviving in the country, good furnishings and monuments as well. The area around the church was the earliest part of the village to be settled.
