The West Norfolk village of Fincham sits on the A1122 roughly halfway between the pleasant market towns of Downham Market and Swaffham, with historic King's Lynn about 10 miles to the north. Though the fascinating if slightly eerie fens are only a short drive away, Fincham is set in the gently rolling countryside that gives the lie to Noel Coward's jibe "Very flat, Norfolk." In easy reach of the village there are the remains of the motte and bailey Wormegay Castle a mile or so to the north, and south east those interested in history can venture further back at the reconstructed Iceni Village in Cockley Cley.
