Dungiven is a small and fascinating market town located on the main road between Derry and Belfast. Overlooked by the brooding Benbradagh Mountain, Dungiven has an imposing castle, inhabited by the ruling O'Cahan clan centuries ago and since restored to become a hotel. Dungiven Castle is surrounded by 20 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, woodlands, wetlands and ponds which are free to enter all year round. Another scenic attraction, nearby, is Banagher Glen, which is also a bird-watcher's paradise.
