Cranfield is a village in the County of Bedfordshire that dates back to Saxon times, positioned on a hill and ringed by woodland, home to six thousand people. The church of St Peter and St Paul dates back to Norman times and is an interesting interlude. A visit to the remains of 17th Century Houghton House will have artists rummaging for their brushes as the views are spectacular, or there is always the breath stealing beauty of Woburn Abbey. Set within 3,000 acres of Deer Park, the Abbey stands on a site that was first occupied by Cistercian monks.
