For all Busby is a village in its own right, administered by East Renfrewshire Council, it feels just like an ex-tension of Glasgow, a suburb on the White Cart Water that stretches all the way through Glasgow’s South-side. Just six miles from Glasgow, Busby’s history stretches back 700 years, when it was but a small settlement of cottages, aligned by the Cart. It wasn’t until 1780, when the Busby Cotton Mill opened up on the opposite side of the River Cart that the Busby that we know today began to coalesce.
