Bridgend of Lintrathen is a hamlet and a parish 7 miles west of Kirriemuir in the district of Forfar, Angus. The hamlet lies 715 feet above sea-level on Meglam Water between the Grampian range and the valley of Strathmore. The river Isla borders on the south-east side forming two waterfalls, the Reekie Linn and Slugs of Achrannie. From Gaelic Bridgend of Lintrathen translates to ‘fast flowing water.’ The Parish Church dates from 1802, located in a scenic wooded area near the Loch. It is a small oblong Gothic Church remodelled and extended in 1858.
