Bramhope is an attractive rural village surrounded by beautiful countryside and woodland in West Yorkshire, home to just over four thousand people. It has an interesting history which reaches back in time to the Saxons and beyond. From a small agricultural and scattered farming settlement it has grown to the leafy village seen today, and yet it is only nine miles or so from the busy centre of Leeds. There is a mixture of architecture with stone built cottages and houses dating back to the 17th, and 18th Century, the Old Schoolhouse, Smithy, Weavers Cottage, and a Puritan Chapel which was built in 1649 after the Restoration which still has its bell intact.
