Berrow is a coastal village in Somerset, located in the Sedgemoor district. Its beach, Berrow Beach, is a beautiful stretch of sandy beach which looks out on to the Bristol Channel. There is a shipwreck of a Norwegian 'barque' the SS Nornen, which ran aground in 1897, on the beach at Berrow. Fortunately, the local lifeboat team were on hand and, fighting the gale themselves, managed to save the hapless Norwegian crew. The village church, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, dates from the 13th century.
