Renowned for its friendliness, Ballymoney is a small, historic market town in northern Antrim, located on the main road between Coleraine and Ballymena. Most of the town's ancient buildings are included within a conservation area. The oldest is a church tower constructed in 1637. The town clock tower and Masonic hall date back to 1775, and the First Presbyterian Church and St Patrick's Parish were built in the same period. Ballymoney hosts the oldest annual drama festival in Ireland, and another enduring tradition is angling, with the surrounding countryside offering excellent waters for game and coarse fishing.
