Appin is a village in the Argyll region of Scotland with Loch Linnhe to the west and impressive mountains inland. Appin is situated south-west of Lochaber on the secluded Appin peninsular in a remote picturesque coastal setting. Appin is famous as the setting for the novel ‘Kidnapped’ by Robert Louis Stevenson Appin was documented in the 17th century for the murder of Colin Campbell of Glenure; with the Appin Stewarts as the prime suspects.
