With wonderful hill walking and biking, they are ideal for those seeking a comfortable base close to outdoor activities, or a peaceful retreat in a lovely rural setting, and for stalking, shooting and fishing in season. Although apparently remote, Edinburgh is only a scenic hour away and Glasgow is a little further.
