Gorffwys-Y-Milwr (Soldier’s Rest) is a restored, traditional, end-terraced cottage, ideally situated in the former slate quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, in the heart of Snowdonia. The property is within walking distance of exciting adventures at Zip World Titan, where you can fly over a slate quarry on Europe’s longest zipwire, Bounce Below, where you can leap on trampoline nets in the old slate cavern, and the Antur Stiniog mountain bike trail centre, where you can take the fast route down the mountains.
For a more leisurely way of seeing the area, the Ffestiniog Railway offers a scenic journey by narrow gauge steam train, down to the coast at Porthmadog, or you can break your journey at Tan y Bwlch for a stroll around the lovely Llyn Mair. Nearby, the pretty villages of Dolwyddelan, with its historic castle, and Betws-y-Coed, the ‘Gateway to Snowdonia’, are waiting to be explored. ..
