About Historic Accommodation

What makes a place historic? Well, we think it could be any number of things, but mainly 'time' I have to say! There are some wonderfully old places - inns and hotels in particular, as well as some B&Bs that are well preserved from the dim and distant past. There are also a number of places that housed famous people including British royalty, or lay claim to an interesting past - the local gaol, courthouse, a windmill or watermill etc. Then of course there are the castles and stately homes - and who doesn't want to stay in a castle? A Scottish castle by a loch ... take me there now!
