The village of Youlgrave (or Youlgreave) lies on the River Bradford in the Peak District in the beautiful county of Derbyshire. It is mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086; where its value is quoted at 16 shillings. Youlgrave is about three miles to the south of the town of Bakewell, home of the 'Bakewell Pudding' and its icing covered derivative the 'Bakewell Tart'. Youlgrave lies along the B5056, which runs off the A6 between Bakewell and Matlock. Life in the village of Youlgreave once revolved around lead mining, but now the village is better known for its annual music festival; held since 2001.
