Uplawmoor is a small historic village in East Renfrewshire in Scotland situated beside Loch Libo, 3 miles south-west of Neilston. The village was for centuries associated with the Barony of Caldwell and the Mure family. During the 19th century Uplawmoor was the estate village for the workers of the Caldwell estate, with a saw-mill and tile works, handloom weaving, shoemaking and harness making. Following the Wars of the Covenant in the 20th century William Mure planned, developed and laid out Uplawmoor as a pretty ‘garden’ village.
