Swanley is a town and civil parish in the Sevenoaks District of Kent. The town boundaries encompass Hextable and Swanley Village. Swanley was renowned as a horticultural centre and became known as the "Home of Flowers", a designation recently revived by its Town Council. Today Swanley is essentially a commuter and distribution centre, still trading on its excellent rail links to London and its proximity to the M25 motorway. The earliest surviving buildings in Swanley town, known as Kent Terrace, are found in the row of shops in the High Street opposite the Lullingstone Castle pub.
