The village of Sutton Bridge is situated on the west bank on the River Nene, in south-eastern Lincolnshire. It also lies on the A17 and is very close to the borders of Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. In 1831 two lighthouses were built on the east and west bank of the river to commemorate the opening of the outfall cut of the River Nene. The East Bank lighthouse was once the home of Sir Peter Scott, the well-known artist and conservationist. There is a 10 mile coastal walk to Kings Lynn named after him.
