Skibo is an ancient village in Dornoch, east Sutherland in the Highlands of Scotland. Skibo is situated near the coast of the Moray Firth, overlooking the Dornoch Firth, a designated a National Scenic Area. Skibo is famous for Skibo Castle, a Highland Castle and Estate dating back to 1186. In 1898 philanthropist Andrew Carnegie purchased the Castle, where he added Loch Ospisdale and the 18-hole golf course in a spectacular position overlooking the firth. The sporting estate is for members only with suites in the Castle and lodges in the grounds.
