Silverstone is a medium sized village in Northamptonshire, England. It lies roughly in the middle between Northampton, Milton Keynes and Banbury, and has a population of about 2,000. In the Middle Ages trade was primarily in timber from the surrounding Whittlewood forest, through the use of coppicing. Linnell Brothers still operate a woodyard there to this day. Fishponds to the north side fed the villagers and the village is listed in the Doomsday Book. A good run of court rolls survive for Silverstone among the archives preserved in Northamptonshire Record Office.
